The Future of Health Tourism, WOCPM International Congress Presents Breakthroughs in Nutrition, Stem Cells, and Regenerative Medicine
BADUNG - The World Council for Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-aging Medicine (WOCPM) held its congress from November 8-10, 2024, at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Bali.
In a bid to strengthen international cooperation in health tourism, the 2nd WOCPM International Congress was successfully held under the grand theme "New Frontier in Preventive, Regenerative Medicine, Nutrition & Stem Cells," in collaboration with Health Tourism.
This congress served as a platform for health experts from around the world to gather and share insights into the future of preventive and regenerative medicine, which is increasingly becoming a focal point in modern health care.
With growing global interest in health tourism, the congress aims to pave the way for broader collaboration in advancing health technology, including nutrition and stem cell therapy.
Attended by scientists, specialist doctors, researchers, and health tourism practitioners, the congress became a strategic forum to explore innovative solutions in preventive and regenerative medicine.
The President of the World Council for Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-aging Medicine (WOCPM), Prof. Dr. Deby Vinski, MSc, PhD., officially opened the congress by striking a traditional Balinese gong (kentongan), symbolizing the start of this international event.
"Participants of the congress will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and explore advancements in health sciences," said Prof. Deby.
This event is also said to strengthen international collaboration in preventive and regenerative medicine, which ultimately can bring significant benefits to global public health.
Recent research related to the benefits of nutrition and advancements in stem cell therapy was discussed, emphasizing their role in preventing and repairing tissue damage.
This therapy is considered one of the promising breakthroughs in improving human quality of life while reducing the risk of chronic diseases in the future.
One of the main topics discussed was the rapid advancements in stem cell technology. Experts highlighted how this therapy could regenerate damaged tissues and aid in treating degenerative diseases such as diabetes, heart disorders, and nerve injuries.
Moreover, the integration of nutrition in regenerative medicine was also emphasized, as proper dietary practices have been proven to enhance the effectiveness of stem cell therapy, accelerate recovery, and support patients' immune systems.
The congress also opens up opportunities for tourism industry players to develop more integrated health tourism options.
With the rising interest of tourists in preventive and regenerative treatments, countries are expected to offer health tourism services that not only attract foreign tourists but also prioritize safety and service quality.
This provides a substantial opportunity for countries with advanced medical facilities to compete globally and establish themselves as prime destinations for health tourism.
Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Prof. Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, Sp.Rad(K) served as a speaker at the 2nd WOCPM International Congress.
"You will not only have the opportunity to enrich your knowledge but also network with professionals from around the world in the inspiring atmosphere of Bali, which has become a hub for international medical collaboration," he stated.
"We anticipate your active participation in this workshop, which is expected to make a positive impact on the advancement of medical science and health tourism in the future."
Through international synergy, this congress is expected to make a tangible impact on improving global health standards while developing a sustainable health tourism industry.
With this, the future of preventive and regenerative medicine will continue to grow, positioning health tourism as a promising sector within the global economy. (Ray)
