The award was presented by Harian Jogja during the JBBA 2026 ceremony held on Wednesday (July 15, 2026) at the Kasultanan Ballroom of Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta.
The recognition underscores the hotel's long-standing dedication to preserving, promoting, and introducing the rich traditions of Javanese culture through immersive guest experiences and sustainable cultural initiatives.

Featuring 78 award categories, JBBA 2026 honors brands across Yogyakarta and Central Java that have demonstrated significant contributions to regional development, innovation, and long-term sustainability. The program also aims to strengthen Yogyakarta's reputation as a center for responsible brands and progressive business practices.
Award recipients were evaluated based on three key criteria: public perception, digital integration, and tangible social impact. The assessment was further categorized into three clusters—Culture, Education, and Sustainable Economy—highlighting excellence in cultural preservation, educational contribution, ESG implementation, MSME empowerment, and community welfare.
Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta received the distinction for its continuous efforts to keep Javanese heritage alive through signature cultural programs such as Patehan and Ladosan Dhahar, both designed to introduce guests to authentic Javanese customs, traditions, etiquette, and philosophy.
Closely connected to the history of the Yogyakarta Sultanate, the hotel has consistently positioned itself as more than a luxury accommodation, serving as a cultural destination where visitors can experience the living heritage of Java.
"This award is a meaningful recognition of Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta's commitment to preserving and promoting Javanese culture through our cultural programs. We believe that culture is not merely a legacy of the past but a living heritage that must continue to be experienced, appreciated, and passed on to future generations," the management of Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta said in an official statement.
The management added that the recognition serves as further motivation to continue developing innovative initiatives rooted in local cultural values while remaining relevant to modern travelers.
